Kids (mostly girls under 18) had to work hard labor in textile mills. Some even died from tuberculosis and other diseases. If you get sick, you can’t even take off, or you will get fired for missing work. Most parents can’t afford a doctor or school either.

I shocked that business  owners would make kids work in such dangerous places.
